Would love to get if its either one of them or someone like Marquinhos for that matter. But if its some stop gap 29 year old player, then I think we should wait, at least until a better player becomes available in the next window(s). In Jones and Rojo we have decent backups to fill in if needed.

Laporte especially I think we have a legit chance of landing next summer. He did sign a new contract recently, but it was mainly done to fend off city i think. The lad's a United fan and if we approach him next summer he should accept.

What about Manolas from Roma?

I think Marquinhos isn't any better than Rojo. Is he?

Still think he's very talented, he's growing into his body, so it's taking him longer than other young players who are more physically ready. Similar to Lingard in that manner, who SAF predicted would make it later on. Apart from Adnan is more talented. I wish him luck.

Mourinho said that Januzaj is still a part of his future plans, it's just that he knows Adnan needs playtime and at Man United that would be almost impossible for him this season.

Got a sneaky feeling Januzaj wont be too keen to return even if we want him back. If he perform well this season under the only manager who can make him perform, then the kid may just think its better to leave to a different league than to return next season. Clearly he is not a Mourinho type player. His contract will have only a year remaining by then as well.


Anyway truth be told I am more concerned as to what happens with Pereira than with Adnan. Its a bit worrying he is not getting any loans. Needs it desperately. Has the quality to become a great starting CM for us. dat pogba-tfm-pereira dream midfield of the future! Will be sad if it doesnt materialize.

Maybe it means Mourinho wants to play him (Pereira).

I don't know about Januzaj, the kid is very talented but overall it doesn't seem to be a good fit for Manchester United. When I say overall, I think about his in-game personality and the way he takes decisions and uses his intelligence.

He will come back if other clubs won't want to buy him. But if he plays very well and other big clubs will go for him, I can imagine him not choosing us, like you said. I don't know. It's tricky.

Agreed. We need a player like that in defense actually even if it means he wont essentially be a starter. Fonte never gets injured like the 2 plebs we have got. So he will be a solid backup option who can guide our inexperienced defenders. Actually Fonte and Shaw are very close. I like him as a player. A no nonsense defender.
Let us sell Rojo and loan Jones to Southampton (in return for Fonte). Jones is in a stage of his career where he needs to perform or perish actually. If he really want to make at United and fulfill all that so called hype and potential he needs to play a lot and going to a club like Soton might just be the thing for him. We still dont know whats left in him as a footballer owing to his wretched injury record. So go on loan and begin afresh. Would be ideal I guess.

I personally would get rid of Jones. He's not gonna get any better, in fact, he has regressed since he's come to Utd. Hasn't shown enough to suggest he's good enough for Utd or that we should still hold faith that'll he come good for us.

I too would ideally. But its not going to happen with him being English and young and everything. The club will look to give him a fair shot, an extended run devoid of injuries before making the final verdict. So a loan deal could be the realistic option at this juncture i believe.

Jones & Shawcross would look pretty nice on paper for Stoke and also Jones not being in our squad will also make us stronger on the paper this season. Win - win situation.

More about Morata: it is said that we've offered 52 mil pounds for his services but Real rejected the offer and made a counter-offer of 78 mil pounds. In my opinion 52 mil pounds was more than enough, but 78 mil is absurd even though Morata is a hard working guy that I would love to see at United.

I'm gobsmacked that MU would even consider selling Martial. I really think Mourinho is past his best if he doesn't recognize that Martial is probably the best current MU player.
