Currently there are 3 published , and the 4th is about to be published soon enough , if it isn't already
I also really liked the 2nd book , yet at the start i really missed Camorr , i could easily read all 7 books in Camorr tbh , no problemo... indeed , the beginning was slow , though as i was starting to get into Tal Verrar and all things Sinspire , shit happens with that major D-bag Stragos and they go out at sea , at first i didn't really approve , but soon enough i well changed my mind anyway . 2nd half of the book is great fun . Agreed with everything , especially Drakasha ffs . And how could you forget Caldris who trained the lads at sea with his "larboard and starboard and shit", ffs what a character

And yes 7 books ffs , really glad for this . Wish he churns a book out each year from now on , i am always waiting for Winds , would hate it having to wait ages for the bastards as well . I am not worried though , read in an interview he's well past his depression which stalled the 3rd book .
In fact , i think he's so well past depression that i noticed the 3rd book is particularly better than the 2nd . Not sure if it's that related to it , but i think the 3rd book is simply too good and an incredibly easy read .

- I don't think i've ever been as emotionally attached to characters as much as i am to Locke and Jean. Even Ezri, seeing her sacrifice herself like that..ffs the feels
And when Locke slipped the antidote into Jean's drink, that selflessness always gets me right in the feels, i'd be lying if i didn't say my eyes were watering a bit.
Already got Republic of Thieves, gonna dive straight in..lets hope Locke is ok..

- Yeap , it was sad with Ezri seeing she was a likable character, let alone how it all happens when you're well into her by then.. on top of it all , it makes you feel even more awful for Jean. Somewhat saw this one coming , was down to Drakasha or her , but mostly her ; GRRM made me too suspicious with asoiaf tbh , if it ain't a protagonist and the character becomes important , you just know how shit's going down eventually. Also fully agreed , these characters are just so damn good , can't but share the feels and enjoy their story .
Also the end was a mindfk to me , was actually kinda hilarious and rather upsetting at the same time . I remember thinking after the end game at the Sinspire , what if they stole fake ones , like the chairs they had made ? Again being an asoiaf orphan makes me paranoid at every turn ffs , but almost instantly i rejected the notion , it seemed laughable even the moment it hit me to be honest . Yet they actually lost in the end , even when they couldn't have known , Requin
IMO actually seeing them lose after all their struggles , after being played , after Locke vowing not to lose again , after everything they had to suffer and endure , it really made the book for me , sometimes you just can't win no matter how much you try , or how good you are . Sometimes you just get fkd And also , because it really makes me wonder , if there will be future retaliation against Requin , i really want this to happen but let's see .
Third act of Red Seas Under Red Skies was immense , enjoyed it to the fullest . Must have read the last 1/3rd of the book in like 2 days or something , consumed it .
Anyway i think you're absolutely going to love the Republic of Thieves ES , i am having a blast so far

- Man, Locke played the Priori, Requin and Stragos like a effing violin. I don't know how he thought of it, but what a boss.
I was pretty sure Drakasha was the one who was going to go, especially since she has a lot more to lose with her children. But when it was Ezri i was stunned, it was even more heartwrenchng since since it was Jean's loss as well, like you said
Requin's fakes were a surprise to me, thought Locke and Jean executed the plan perfectly. But delivering Stragos to Drakasha was satisfactory enough, that's 2 governments Locke and Jean dabbled with. I'm not sure if leaving Priori/Requin in charge of Tal Verrar is good/bad. Requin seems a lot like Barsavi, with the Sinspire being 'The Floating Grave'.
Finally, i was having speculations that Merrain might've been Sabetha? But that has been debunked, as she's seems to be an agent of another country (confirmed in her POV chapter).

- Couldn't have said it better . And yeah , Stragos' suffering was particularly satisfying , goes without saying. (I pictured Stragos as the character in House of Cards , Doug Stamper , Underwood's right hand .. not sure why , but it fit so well in my head )
Indeed Locke was brilliant throughout this adventure , even if the end score wasn't the winningest either.. Requin's fakes was also a surprise to me as well , frankly a big surprise , dat flashy notion was just a what if moment , hardly anything more. They did do everything perfectly tbh , they could never have known about this , there wasn't any info to be had about it . Locke can play both the short and long game from what we've seen , but certainly he can't plan ahead for just about everything . This turn of events , along with failing to find a sufficient solution with the cure in the end , it really flavored the book .
As for the Priori and Requin ruling Tal Verar , well imho i don't think it can possibly be anything good , for Tal Verrar that is . Requin already ruled the right people and generally most of the criminal underworld with an iron fist , his cruelty is widely spread in his background story serving as a reminder for everyone , his commitment to keep himself into power was well established , he also kinda legally breaks the peace with the rich thanks to the Sinspire and now he has even more power in his hands and without a Stragos to antagonize him . You're very much right about him and Barsavi sharing similarities and tbh he is Tal Verrar's Barsavi , but imho if you get past the Camorri fame of Barsavi , Requin is a much harder player and has more power than Barsavi did . At least now he will , also with his girl in charge of Stragos's elite guard , his grip on Tal Verrar will be even stronger. He could well end up being a very very poor man's Tywin Lannister in Tal Verrar
And yes 2 governments Locke and Jean dabbled with , an important note to make . Would really like to read what Chains would have said about this
As for Merrain , besides this , Jean and Locke would have recognized her if she was Sabetha , especially Locke . She could have masqueraded to the best of her ability , they would sooner or later realize it if Merrain was actually Sabetha .

As for Dosto , i think it was RG who said he was in his final year in university , apparently doing some serious engineering and what not (iirc) . Obviously he's quite excused lol . In any case , a good long break from the forum will have done him good , he'll come back fresher whenever he does . I don't think he ever stopped posting since the previous forum .
If i had to guess , i'd say he will probably be posting again in the summer when he's done .

Well that's a little unfortunate , i haven't finished it yet
Haven't been reading that much lately . I finally sat down to watch the entire Batman The Animated series , something i had wanted to do for a really long time . So in my spare time i barely had time to read the book as well . I've finished it all a couple of days back though .

I'll post once i'm done , I'm already past the first 1/3 of the book anyway . Knowing how fast i got there the first time , it won't take me long at all .

Existential crisis knows of no age. I've heard the most notorious is the identity crisis at the age of 30, but I am already feeling it... or I think I am.
On 9 June I turned 27. It is not as particularly meaningful a number as 18 or 30, but for me it represents a page turned over. I've been admitted in one of Iran's top three universities to get my master's degree in English Literature starting in September, and frankly I cannot be prouder. However, I have almost nobody special with whom to share my momentous news.
Which brings me to the issue of loneliness. My best friend left seven years ago for Canada; we meet every two years. Brilliant. And the two other friends who can somewhat fill his void, I have not seen in eighteen months. Moreover, the girlfriend of three years dumped me like a boss, and hence my life could best be described as topsy-turvy.
Is any of you guys a psychoanalyst or psychologist? Can anyone tell me why everyone I hold dear leaves me so easily, and why I lose friends on a daily basis? I know there are no definitive answers, but come on... there must be something I'm doing wrong.
It is telling that I KNOW these things are happening to me, and that I AM doing something wrong; but, pathetically, I know not why.
So, WHY? And more importantly: where is the answer?

.What you talked about happens to all of us. Time is the ultimate manhunter. It traps us all, makes us weak, makes us impatient, makes us leave forums...
But it's nice to have mini-reunions like these days.
We started foruming here some 10 years ago, and f*** me if I can believe it's been that long. I'd love to hear what's been going on in the lives of my fellow Rossoneri here. Nothing like real-life stories with all their quirks and shenanigans and heartbreaks and triumphs and useful lessons and useless experiences.
I love every member in this forum no matter what. I feel at home here.
