Don't mind if he leaves. Even if he then goes on to play healthy for the rest of his career. Fed up with his injuries, plus I think it's partly down to his attitude, he's got a bit of prima donna in him. I still preferred if he stayed, but won't be gutted if he left.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
I'm not gutted to see him go. Very talented goal scorer but seems to be weak mentally and physically and is just sitting there eating money. I also feel like he's negatively impacted our squad since his injuries started cropping up because they keep waiting for him to get healthy.
Well given the way that Klopp has spoken about him I don't think that Klopp fancies him as an individual regardless of his skill, so I doubt that it will happen unless there's some mending of bridges there.
Weird because Sturridge is the only player with the right mentality on our team supposedly.

Going where?
He's staying at Liverpool.
If there's anything to go by for this season atleast, is that he's going to be a key player for us in the final third next season.

He is classic case of to be or not to be isn't he? Cannot keep him due to how brittle he is and cannot sell due to how good he is. This is some dilemma for Kloppo imo

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
Ofcourse he is too good to sell but just look at how many mins he plays. There was never doubt about his potential but I don't think Liverpool can count on him anymore fitnesswise nor do they afford to have their best striker to spend more mins with nurses and doctors than team.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
Sure.
But why sell him, unless you have a trouble with wages?
They have Benteke, who is a good striker too, and we'll see whether he can find form under Klopp.
They have Origi, who looks full of confidence, and like he could become a real weapon soon since Klopp's taken over.
They have Firmino.
Ings will come back.
Isn't the position more or less sorted? When Sturridge is fit, he plays. If not there's all those other who can get much deserved minutes?
Of course, if Benteke continues to not fit into Klopp's plans, then he's the one who should be sold and replaced. Not Sturridge.

Sturridge is going nowhere lol, his brittleness is something that Klopp, as a manager, needs to deal with aptly.

Sturridge, Origi, Ings all being fit next season is gonna be very good for us. All 3 can play CF the way Klopps like it.
We'll have to replace Benteke though.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
Hans I think the only issue with Sturridge is if they refrain from getting another elite striker because they hope for him to be fit. I like Origi and Ings a lot, but they're a few years away from being top strikers, if they ever make it there.
If another elite striker is able to come in and play alongside Sturridge, or in place of him when he's not fit, I'm all for keeping him. Obviously when he's fit he's a top goal scorer. I just feel like if the team is going to rely on him he's a bigger burden than boon unless he sorts out his health problems.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
I was watching carefully how Sturridge played yday. He is not suited our style and obviously very difficult for him to get into starting XI. But we somehow need to keep him at the club even in the next season. When we play in Europe next season, we will need him. We will have to rotate the front 3 next season even more so I hope Klopp can keep him happy.
And I would say, Origi should be ahead of him if we any of our front 3 gets injured.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
Yesterday we played a diamond and it suited Sturridge. Origi did the dirty work for him.
Anyways as far as if we ever sell Sturridge, we'll definitely buy another guy whose more suitable to challenge Phil-Bob-Mane.

Re: Sturridge || The Double Edged Sword #15
I agree with Helmer. I didn't find Sturridge even played that well yesterday. I swear I could have scored 5 goals with the chances he got in that game lol. Obviously the diamond suited him and Origi was fantastic in that role as a supporting striker to Sturridge (and good on Klopp for finding a way to get more out of the two of them together) but our front 3 of Lallana/Firmino/Mane without a clear striker just requires more than Sturridge can give.

You're all idiots.
Still our best striker (yes better than Origi).
Sick of this constant knee jerk. (Although to be fair to Curtinho he's never rated him. Which I guess could be even more baffling.)
