Really don’t know what the appeal with Löw is, I kinda got it when Hansi Flick was still helping him but now he is alone and useless.

You want to have a new start? Start with the manager.

He doesn't have any clear ideas with the team.  Granted, it's a transition and finding a new identity doesn't happen overnight unless you're blessed with great talent (which was almost always the case for Germany)...  but I can think of a lot better than Low.

Germany has to get solid defensively to get results right now.  France did the same thing in the early 2010s...  you can't start any other way and still qualify for major tournaments. The key to getting better ASAP is giving the kids big tournament experience... you can't miss those.

I think managers-especially Nat team managers-get too much blame and credit for what they do, but it is time for a change, they need a hard ass like Felix Magath. Maybe it is time to start a bring In Felix movement, the team lost its drive years ago. Yeah, I need to start one of those Google petition things. Free Felix from China!

I suspect if N Ireland gets a win or draw, both quite possible based upon what I have seen of Germany lately, JLow will be gone.

Where has all the love for JLow gone? He was a Hearthrob 5 years ago. Geez whats next, your rooting for Poland over Austria?

Only 10 minutes gone, But N Ireland look more likely to score, if not for lack of finishing

I don't think any of us here were ever huge Löw fans.
Either way, I think Löw does great strategic work, he's an awesome assistant coach to be sure, his teams always find neat ways to set up, but he's just an utter idiot at tactics, his lineups are almost always utterly ridiculous, and his substitutions just seem random. He should be coaching the players on the training pitch, and doing white room tactics, but on actual match day someone more qualified should make the tactical decisions on the sideline, a proper coach who will actually respond to what he sees on the field with his tactical instructions and substitutions.
You know, someone like Nagelsmann. Not necessarily him, but I mean someone like him. Someone who's good at tinkering with lineups.

So the former SC Freiburg president, Fritz Keller has been named DFB President yesterday.

Let's hope he comes with a plan for the future, a future that doesn't involve Jogi Löw.

SO the JLow era is over and the Flick era begins. I dunno, but I assumed Flick would probably play a more attacking style, I guess we will see.

Granted the players are not very good but the 2-0 win vs Liechtenstein does not sound like an attacking start. Did not see the match so I dont know how they actually played.
Do any nations actually want to play in the Qatar WC anyways?

Can slowly feel the Hype returning. Anyone else?
Have been a bit of a Flick fan even back when he was assistant coach, TBH, think he's pretty clever tactically, which I admire.
Also I've met him a couple times IRL and he's pretty nice, as is his wife.
(We don't swing, he used to frequent my bar.)
