Another goal + assist + MOTM performance today

That puts him on 15 goals/5 assists in 26 Serie A appearances this season
5 goals/1 assist in 8 CL matches

Numbers wise, he may not exceed last season's 32 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions but given Dybala's goal scoring form + the handful of goals we have received from other players chipping in, were actually scoring more and Higuain is certainly a big reason for that.

I know its cliche, but I'm loving his work rate lately. He presses hard, always offers an outlet and what seems the biggest improvement is his passing. For example, the Dybala pass against Tottenham, replicated again today and on the weekend with Udinese. Today, a very smart turn and assist to Matuidi.

Best #9 in Serie A surely

Got 2 assists in 2 consecutive games with some neat holdup play. I would say that was among his weaker areas when he arrived here but yeah, great to see him combining well with other attackers and as a result, also stacking up more assists to his name.

Fully deserved last season

This season? Definitely not for me either
-Decisive in the Champions League
-A 'good' return in Serie A including some key goals: brace away to Milan, winner away to Inter, winner away to Napoli

Maybe we have to continuously justify his fee and make him into a larger than life player at Juve

Marotta "We are very happy with Higuain, it was his 2nd season with us & he did very well. If we receive offers or bids for Higuain, they will not be considered."

Numerous reports in Italian media that we're ready to sell him.

They also talk of some tensions between Allegri and Higuain. Apparently Higuain's exclusion in the Coppa final has worsened relations between him and Allegri(the reasoning is probably BS) and that we're ready to sell him for 60M so as to avoid a loss.

We'd need minimum 54M to avoid a loss on his transfer considering the first two years have been amortized.

afaik his clause made it possible for us to make 2 payments and that was considered to soften the massive release clause of 90m.
If we find a way to sell him this summer for smth around 55-65m we have done an amazing job there.
Getting one of the top 4/5 strikers (he was considered even better after his 36 goal season with Napoli) for two years and selling him at a decent price right before he is starting his decline.

Hopefully it happens.I do not dislike him as he has delivered for sure but lately he's been frustrating to watch and not quite the same striker when it comes to CHL.
So far only Chelsea could be interested (said to be even more if Sarri joins them) and maybe PSG or Bayern if their strikers (Cavani & Lewandowski) move on this summer.

Its fine if he is sold. We just shouldn't replace him with Mandzukic or Morata.

Agreed ^^

Lots of traction to support he will leave, I guess that's the marquee player to leave us this summer, along with maybe Sandro.

I don't overly mind, we will recoup some cash and re-shuffle our attack which is strong as it is. And, usually, (almost always), when a player of this importance leaves, a new one joins us

I feel really bad for him.

He deserved a much better team than mid-table Milan.

I like to think he's been our unsung hero and an underrated presence for the past two seasons. A lot of people expected him to win games on his own, it's just not how it works. On his great moments he didn't receive the individual praise he deserved and on his poor moments, he received all of the blame.

But ask yourself where we would have been these two years without Higuain?

I promise we would not have won the scudetto in 2016-17 and probably not this season either. We would not have made the CL final in 2016-17 and we would not have made it passed Tottenham, or perhaps out of the group even, without him this season.

The Cristiano signing is obviously the reason for his departure. It is now time to balance costs and if we knew that his signing was possible, perhaps we would not have geared up like we did these previous seasons in attack. For every action, there has to be an opposite reaction and that is Higuain being sold here.

a player you can sell anytime you want to club like Milan is no average player

Higuain has been nothing else but an excellent striker doing his job: goals, assists, excellent teamwork

players who score lots of goals they are special because there are many qualities you need to do that

i think the price we talking about it has to do with his age you cant sell more a player of his age otherwise, Higuain is special, excellent striker,

Higuain not keen on AC Milan move

AUGUST 1, 2018
Reports from across the Italian media suggest that Gonzalo Higuain is unconvinced by the terms offered by AC Milan.

The Argentine striker has been deemed surplus to requirements this summer following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Juve are looking to move him along to cut back on salary costs.

As such, a loan move to AC Milan was thought to be in the offing, alongside the transfer of Mattia Caldara and Leonardo Bonucci from club to club.

Asked yesterday whether Higuain’s move to AC Milan was complete, Juventus GM Beppe Marotta replied “Not really…”, leading to speculation that things had not yet been finalised.

Gazzetta Dello Sport, La Stampa, Sky Sport Italia and a number of others now report that Pipita is not convinced by the loan offer from Milan.

There’s a suggestion that the striker would like a higher salary in order to join the Rossoneri as well as a ‘golden handshake’ from Juventus before making the move.

if i was Higuain i would not accept this kind of transfer without giving me 4 years contract 40 million

it would be stupid if he accepts the transfer for less money

Higuain slows Milan-Juve mega-deal
By Football Italia staff

Gonzalo Higuain still does not want to move on loan and is demanding €9m-a-season, slowing down a move to Milan.

The 30-year-old appeared poised to confirm a switch to San Siro yesterday after Juventus and the Rossoneri came to an agreement over a €54m deal, which would also see defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia Caldara move in opposite directions.

However, Italian media widely reports that the Argentine forward is unhappy with two aspects of the deal.

Firstly, he is adamant that he wants a permanent transfer rather than a loan. The €54m agreement in place is for an initial year-long €18m loan, followed by Milan having the option to sign him permanently next summer for a further €36m.

And despite Milan general manager Leonardo explaining to Higuain that the inclusion of the loan deal is simply so the Rossoneri can satisfy Financial Fair Play regulations this year, the former Napoli man still has his doubts.

Furthermore, Higuain reportedly wants wages of €9m-a-season to make the switch to San Siro.

He currently earns around €7.5m-a-year at Juve and wants an increase to reflect his importance to his new club.

Further talks are planned today and it is still hoped the deal will be concluded soon, given that everything is in place other than Higuain’s approval.

The Caldara-Bonucci swap is tethered to this transfer and will not happen without it, with Milan insisting they get the promising centre-back as part of the deal.

Chelsea still want Higuain?
By Football Italia staff

Gazzetta dello Sport reports Chelsea could come back into contention for the signing of Gonzalo Higuain, should negotiations continue to stall with Milan.

Yesterday, the Argentine forward appeared certain to complete a move to San Siro after Juventus and the Rossoneri agreed a deal, which also includes the exchange of Mattia Caldara and Leonardo Bonucci.

But it has emerged that Higuain is unhappy with the idea of moving on an initial loan deal – something that Milan seemingly have to do in order to satisfy Financial Fair Play regulations.

He also wants the Diavolo to pay him wages of €9m-a-season.

Negotiations will continue today - with Milan remaining favourites to sign Higuain - but Gazzetta reports Chelsea could be back in the running for the 30-year-old’s signature.

According to the Italian daily, the Blues are in advanced negotiations to sell forward Olivier Giroud to French club Marseille.

Once that deal is completed, the Stamford Bridge club will reportedly have the finances to make an offer to Juve to match that of Milan’s.

New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has not given up hope of a reunion with Higuain, with the duo having worked together at Napoli.

And the English Premier League club should be able to satisfy both Higuain’s wage demands and his desire to complete a permanent transfer away from Turin.

1st season he was perfect until the CL final
2nd season i didn't rate him as elite anymore, he lost speed and dribbling ability. And it seems his eye for the goal has regressed a bit.

BUT

Higuain did not deserve a mere exile to Milan, he was a valorous soldier for 2 years here. Never left the field with a dry shirt. It's collateral damages for the arrivals of Bonucci/Ronaldo, tbh i'd have prefered a straight swap Bonucci vs Caldara and sell Higuain to England at a decent price. Sadly now Juve will be bittersweet memories for him even if he was respected by fans.
