Francesco Totti is opposed to violence against women . The Roma captain has signed the petition launched by " If Not Now When "after yet another murder of a woman. The appeal asks the Government and civil society to mobilize and put in place practical measures to stop violence against women in Italy - 56 women have died since the beginning year for this reason - and the media to start calling these episodes with the only name they deserve, "femicide."
" Only in this way - the promoters argue - we can avoid that the stories of victims getting lost, confused pages of the crime " . The appeal has been cross accessions from the world of politics, from entertainment, trade unions, sport and civil society.
